If you don't know how to practice, it doesn't matter how many nice lines, licks and chords you know. It doesn't matter how many tunes you know either.

There's a WAY to get chords, scales and chops under your fingers in an efficient and flowing manner. And it's been described by Kenny Werner in his book "Effortless Mastery".

The triangle has three sides. And when you're getting familiar with new musical materials, you typically have to "sacrifice" one side in favor of the two others.

Once you start practicing like this, you will pick up steam and momentum. New ideas will find their way into your vocabulary effortlessly. Yes, check out the Werner book (please!)
