Why I DON'T Watch JAPANESE TV

Japanese TV is beloved the world over. But is it really as good as people think it is? I recount my three most awkward experiences on Japanese Television and reveal my reasons for why I avoid watching it.

Abroad in Japan : NOTIFICATION SQUAD: For the love of god, don't say this is a pen. In fact, just don't use the letter p from now on.
This video is 25% rant, 25% critique, 25% story time and 25% diorama. I hope somewhere in between you learn something of value! BUT what do you think of Japanese TV? Am I being too harsh? Or perhaps too kind? Let me know and enjoy the video!
Also, the video starts at 09:30...
Jynx112 : Wait till he sees Trinidad TV.
Yep. : So what I’ve gathered is Japanese TV is giant propaganda module unless abroad in japan is involved in reading what they want and unless you’re an english/ japan speaker you’re unable to notice the cuts
Explosives #Cancelado : Holy shit mate, you'r a japanese Forrest Gump
nectaron : Hey Chris. It would be fantastic if you would one day go to one of the most fantastic weird places in Japan, Sweden hills. It's a place in Hokkaido where they for some reason have adopted Swedish culture and are probably doing it better the we do in Sweden.
Love you videos, keep it up!
StochasticUniverse : 6:10 I tried this when Chris suggested it. I turned on the TV to see what would come up.

Harry fucking Potter. You can't make this shit up. Wherever Chris goes, Harry Potter is sure to follow.
Xan Skidgel : If he said delicious every time.

So Triple D?
sunflower 21 : Do you just upload a video once a month?
Andy's Epic Video!!!!!!!!!!! Time : https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCkM4MwTX_KXsj9joCaiwIlw?view_as=subscriber
Michael Thulin : Hey Chris, just wanted to tell you that I really appreciate your content!
As someone who wants to one day live and work in Japan I've watched tons of different people on YouTube but you are by far my favorite for a number of reasons!
There are so many YouTubers who focus on making vlogs, the most prominent formula seems to be to take a bunch of random clips of: a dog, the milk you're drinking, a random bridge, etc. Now slap some music on it and just fade it out whenever you add a clip of you simply describing what I just watched, oh and it doesn't matter if the music only had time to play for 5 seconds, pacing is not something you need to worry about.
Your content however is well paced and structured, features charismatic guests, are filled with informational topics, has high-quality shots that are always tied in to the subject and possibly best of all, your witty remarks. (Also the interesting camera angles, creative transitions and special effects are worth mentioning! The intro of this video was amazing! x))
I can imagine it's difficult to truly appreciate the amount of people that you have helped in different ways, providing information, food for thought and comedy.
Anywho, something of a rant but I suppose what I wanted to say was... Thanks and I'm looking forward to the next one! ^^

What NO-ONE Tells You About Japan

What do I dislike about Japan the most? Why do strangers here always randomly ask your age? Who's in my basement? And how did a Giant Hornet once lead me to almost crash my car? The answers to all these questions and more, lie within.

Abroad in Japan : NOTIFICATION SQUAD: It's 5am and I've been editing for 18 hours. I can't feel my face. I've forgotten my name. (I think it's Dave). There's a ton of stories and experiences stuffed into this video - I hope you enjoy them! (Just don't ask me about the guy in the basement). I'd like to another Q&A again and indeed, if it does well, I may do another in June. I hope you guys are safe wherever you may be out there right now - things seem to be improving and I look forward to getting out once and again exploring the country. The question is, WHERE should we explore? Let me know in the comments and it'll probably definitely happen.
statorworks 345 : Excellent
Jaden Flores : That was a scarily good American accent
Agustín Díaz Salvadores : Small? You have no idea what small is!
Danjuw : 02:32 okay... so... i'm a little drunk watching this and that sound fucked me! i was swatting near my head while looking around...
Geno2733 : I'd say buy yourself a JR pass and go sight seeing for a month if you're still going to be out of work.
Geno2733 : Lesson #1 about nuker sandwiches: DON'T nuke it until you're ready to EAT it.
Abhinay K : Someone in japan: What's your age?
Me trying to assert dominance: I was born in 1500AD sire.
xSnowolfx : How much is your apartment a month?
I want to know how much it will cost to move to Japan.
무명인 : 7:10 한국 사람이면 꼭 보시기 바랍니다.

When ENGLISH in Japan Goes HORRIBLY Wrong

Engrish. Japanglish. Whatever you want to call it, when Japanese-English marketing goes wrong, the results are spectacular. But WHY is English used so frequently in Japan and how bad can it really get?

Abroad in Japan : NOTIFICATION SQUAD: MOIST WITH ME. Favourite Engrish example in the video? There's certainly a fair few to choose from...
And a big thanks to everyone that stopped by for my 30th birthday live show on the Abroad Perspective channel!
For those that missed the mayhem, you can watch it here:

I'm thinking about using the second channel for monthly live shows, having done it twice this year and enjoyed it both times. Keep an eye out!
Christopher Ruth : Making fun of the Japanese for kooky English usage. Absolutely groundbreaking stuff. Congratulations. (My friends back in the USA got a kick out of "Nice Stick" when I shared a pic of it...10+ years ago.)
StochasticUniverse : Sometimes, the only difference between hilarious Engrish and actual poetry is authorial intent. Some of the things I've seen would qualify as amazingly poetic...if only they had been done on purpose, haha.
Michelle B : You are hilarious! I adore how smart your humor is!
Stanley Marciel : In your opinion, do a lot of these Japanese marketers just not have a good idea of the sense inferred by certain words in English? It's surprising that most of it is fine, but their understanding of English semantics and pragmatics appears to be lacking.

-Linguistics student who doesn't want to fuck up localization
eric porto : 8:06 - the portuguese is very bad... I am brazilian so I can say that it's not ( pensado pela dona de casa ) instead it is ( pensado para a dona de casa ).
Shay D. Mann : Hm portuguese in the advertisement for the housewife cutting board mhm ok "Tábua de corta pequena" hm yes "Board of cutting small" hmhm yesss I see
Jack Walker : for beautiful hair let a child run his fingers through it what?
GiGi W. : Jingianna Jones? Is that bacon?
Michelle Lee : Honestly this was the kinda quality content I subscribed you for.
